DAVID  C  KING  ARTWORK

David’s creative journey has been anything but conventional. Growing up in Dublin, he began as an apprentice to his father, Cecil King, a professional sculptor, where he developed a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and artistry.

He went on to explore interior design before moving to London to study classical guitar under Gilbert Biberian. Thirty years ago, David relocated to Australia, where he studied singing at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music in Brisbane, eventually building a successful career as a performer with Opera Australia.

During his years on tour, David rediscovered his love for drawing and painting. This rekindled passion led him to transition into painting after retiring from the stage. Now a full-time artist, David works primarily in oils, focusing on landscapes that reflect his connection to both the natural and industrial worlds.

His work often draws on the textures and tones of beaches, mountains, and industrial settings, capturing their beauty in a way that feels both authentic and personal.
